The Sculpture department is one of the oldest and principal departments of the college, where masters such as Vagharsh Melik-Hakobyan, Karo Halabyan, Ara Sargsyan, Suren Stepanyan and Stepan Taryan once taught. The traditions and problems of the academic school of sculpture are taught here, following curricula developed by our distinguished sculptor-instructors. Alongside the core professional subjects, special attention is given to the anatomical study of the model and to summer practice, traditionally shown at year-end report exhibitions.
Through state educational standards and approved curricula, the college prepares highly qualified specialists for creative work in sculpture, as well as for teaching sculpture and drawing.
